Tomorrow we fly North to Bangkok then South East to Phnom Penn. In 24 hours, all being well, we will be in the Cambodian capital. Our true adventure begins tomorrow.
Yesterday was another lovely hot day in this paradise with a wonderful lagoon pool. However, to break the manotony we ventured out to the town of Patong on the Eastern side of Nakalay Bay.
There is everything you require from a 'Thai holiday' here including a ping pong show, bars (one of which I turned into a personal karaoke bar) girls, massage, street food, Chaing Beer and genuine knock-off Nobby gear.
We also met up with a lovely couple from Sydney, Jane & Craig.
Well a heddy mixture of some of the ingredients listed above and some Percy Sledgeing from our table led me to 'perform' a AC/DC classic with the assistance of a live band.
The journey home was a bit ziggy zaggy for me and Sue was concerned that I would be Percy Thrower on the bus back to the hotel.
Today, we saw a storm play out across the bay which made Patong disappear from sight for a few hours (like it did for me at the end of yesterday evening).
We made our final forays into the pool and the sea before taking a perilous then abandoned journey on foot to a restaurant Sue had seen on the bus the night before. Armed with a torch we assumed that a path and street lighting would ultimately come to our aid but after twenty minutes of near suicidal pedestrian exploits we turned back and got a taxi to the pleasant town of Kamala. We had a lovely meal on plastic chairs (we sat on the chairs, the meal was served in a conventional fashion on the table.
Then it was back to the hotel to pack for our six am taxi to the airport.

Any spice girls at the karaoke?
ReplyDeleteI imagine you got the horn a few times on that abandoned promenade.
